I rang an acquaintaince to find out what happened as I'll miss it today. Fooking great stuff again. As an aside this thread remains top, sticky or no sticky. A sign of the quality of the show and the debate it generates.

Where are you going? And to think I was going to suggest a pint after work. It just feels like we're drifting further and further apart lately. I'm not sure I want to see you anymore.

Not really though I actually found it hard to follow. It was really concentrating on Mrs Bellingham's alleged involvement in Mayor West's murder. She had instructed that shady PI kind of guy to get incriminating evidence "by whatever means possible." Turns out he went to the office the night of the murder and he told Morag on the phone at the end last night that he knows who killed Josh. Alf just said more stuff about the kid being a good guy but he'll be turned if he stays in prison. I missed a couple of minutes so can't say for certain that nothing else was revealed on that front. Finally Matilda failed in her efforts to have her curfew extended to eleven o'clock in line with Lucas. She has to be in bed by ten apparently, which I think seems quite early.

just caught the no1 thread on the forum before it slipped off the first page. surely a contradiction in terms? one could be forgiven for thinking so but i was alluding to it being consistently no1 over a sustained period of time. It was merely enjoying a lull in activity over the past week due to the addition of new members and the popularity of second rate threads

She has to be in bed by ten apparently, which I think seems quite early. surely she's old enough to have a later curfew given that she's old enough to be living with her boyfriend? how do Beth's kids grow up so quickly - Robbie is married, Kit is a reformed alcoholic, Scott has the personality of a dry 70 year old and now Matilda has moved in with her 14 yr old lover......

Cracking finish to this yesterday, gutted I’ll miss it tonight cos of the Ireland game.
Alf was just upset because he saw a lot of good in young Davy Gibson and thought the system failed him more so than anything. He was just worried about what would happen to him when the 2 escapees were returned to prison.
I missed a few episodes a while back but it appears Morag hired a guy called Bob Radcliffe to carry out some surveillance on Josh West before he was killed. Apparently this Bob character is a shady enough, private detective type and Peter uncovered some link between him and Morag. Now Peter is treating him as a suspect and Morag as an accomplice (even though Morag hired him purely just to uncover the corruption Josh was involved in rather than to do him harm) because Bob has gone to ground since the murder. Morag was trying to track him down before Peter because she wanted to hear his side of the story and to ensure that he wasn’t implicated in any way which would make her position very difficult.
Anyway, it ended last night with an agitated and unshaven Bob ringing Morag to say he was in hiding. She goes why and he said because I was at the mayor’s office that night. Morag says you fool what were you doing there and he says I have photos of a person emerging from the mayor’s office seconds after he heard the shot. And he goes ‘I know who killed Josh West’ and then I jumped up off my seat and then it ended.

Anyone able to provide a quick summary of last night’s episode? Need to be up to speed for later. Might do a bit of work this afternoon first though – wicked hangover is a touch better after my sleep in the cubicle in the jacks between 11.30pm and 12pm and the lovely cottage pie I managed to keep down at lunch time.

Morag is still on the phone and reluctantly agreed to give Bob Radcliff €3,000 to flee the country in exchange for the photos of the killer. She then races of to the diner all distracted and the like to get the money and meet Radcliff. Peter is called and told Morag is on the move as he is having her followed by 2 policemen.
Peter than arrives at the diner as Morag is getting in the car and asks her if she has any news and Morag is all snarky saying you should know by now that I have nothing to hide detective – side note I love the interaction between Peter and Morag especially when he calls her Mrs. Bellingham.
Morag then roars off and Peter nods at the Cops to follow her. Morag spots the car behind her figures out that there following her so she speeds up to lose them and pulls in behind a house until the pass. Then she goes to meet Radcliff.
Radcliff is really nervous Morag hands over the money and as he’s about to giver her the photos the police race up so he does a runner with the photos.
At the Police Station Peter is furious with Morag and threatens to charge her. Morag gets very worked up as this would end her career. Then Radcliff calls Morag on the phone and Morag sets up another meet with him.
Morag is then wired and Peter agrees to drop the charges as Morag is now cooperating.
When Morag meets Radcliff again she is really nervous – which I didn’t really believe as I think Morag would have been able to carry it off but anyway Radcliff figures out that she is wearing a wire and does another runner.
Peter is livid and yells at Morag that it was there one chance to catch the killer.
Radcliff then calls the killer and says he will give him the photos if he pays up.
The final scene is Peter and the cops coming on the spot where we last saw Radcliff and there are a few drops of blood….
The only other thing happening was Alf acting weird for the entire episode I don’t think he is adjusting to well to being home.
I realise that that wasn’t a short recap but I didn’t know what I could cut Overall it was a great episode.

Smashing summary Gilly. I missed it yesterday as well but really looking forward to it tonight. Were there any clues as to the killer's identity when Radcliffe was on the phone to him/her?
As an aside is Morag on the opening credits these days?

Excellent, thanks for that. So am I right in saying that Radcliffe has maybe been murdered/attacked by the killer who probably has the photos now?
It says it all really that when I clicked back into the board there I saw this thread, the Celtic one and the GAA one had new messages and this was the first one I read. Can’t wait for later now.

As an aside is Morag on the opening credits these days? Thanks. No clues at all to the killer we don't even see them in shadows or anything. Now I might be going crazy but could Peter be a suspect at all? It's just that when the cops arrived at the scene after being told about a sighting of Radcliff, Peter was already there and the cops asked him how he knew to come here and he said he heard it on the radio. For some reason I immediately was suspicious about how he acted but I’m probably just reading too much into it. What do you think? I’ve been racking my brain is there any reason for Peter to want Josh dead? Morag is still not in the opening credits - which I cannot understand when the likes of that fool Dan get in immediately. It's a disgrace. Bandage - We have certainly been led to believe something has happened to Radcliff so the killer would have the photos.

I don’t think Peter’s involved but they’re really keeping us guessing and almost leading the viewer to believe that he may be. We had that stuff with the shed from before with all the stalker photos and now last night. It’s absolutely wrecking my head and it’s taking a lot of strength to stop myself logging onto backtothebay or the official site. I am dying to know who did it and if it links to the stalker.
