It has to be said, there a false sense of popularity about H&A, it is only a cabal of persistent offenders that make it so.(controversial) I agree that this forum should be open to all & sundry interests and opinions, but I would hardly say H&A takes precedence over other issues in hand- yet it is the opening forum? This smacks of self-mastirbatory gratification and nothing else- about H&A of all things... Its only popular because the administrator and one moderator are fans. Lunatics running the asylum springs to mind, sticky.....

We had this debate already. If you want a forum with 15-20 sub forums each with only a few topics in each then feel free to set up one yourself.

I am inclined to agree with those who suggest that this thread should not be stickied at the top of the forum. I think those who wish to use it would have no problem retrieving it from the archive of threads and if is a popular thread on any given day it will automatically be at the top of the screen. If this thread is to be stickied then there are plenty of other which warrant the same treatment but I feel it is getting a bit clogged up at the top of the screen. Keep it to one or two stickied threads imo.

I think members realise there's a few of us (myself, rock, sam, lyonsee, curly, susia, maybe even pagey to name but a few) that are big into Home and Away. Now I think it's a cracking show but there’s also a bit of humour relating to this. Like when Sally was abducted last autumn I went through a phase of speaking to people as if it was real life, e.g. ‘Bandage, how’s things?’, ‘Terrible – got no sleep last night cos my friend Sally’s been abducted by some crazy stalker’. There’s been many other debates had in jest relating to the show. A period of about 3 months was spent speculating as to the identity of the stalker last summer and there’s been constant debates as regards the direction the show is taking etc. It was stickied due to the death of a main character while the evening episode was postponed for World Cup coverage and most afficionados would have missed this. Equally it was stickied to remind people that the evening repeat returns this evening. I would suggest those complaining lighten up for fook sake – it’s hardly a matter of life and death unlike the curse of cancer which took the late Dr. Flynn Saunders.

Fair point bandage. I myself am partial to a bit of H&A on occasion and definitely enjoy some of the comments in relation to the show posted here. Still don't agree with it being stickied but I am prepared to let it lie while Sally is in a period of mourning for Dr. Flynn!

Maybe Charlie Haugheys thread should have been stickied too then, the death of one of Ireland's main characters of the past 30 years.................. Three (maybe four ) members follow H&A as per 1st 'Which is better?' thread.

I don’t get the shouting down others for liking something you don’t though. I have a limited interest in The Simpsons but I don’t care if someone else posts about it – that’s what the forum is for. I post about things I reckon I have a fair knowledge of and interest in. That’s why I laughed when you contradicted yourself so outrageously and backtracked all over the shop in the Mattie Forde debate the other week week and still wouldn’t admit you were wrong.

Who will remember Mattie Ford Mondeo in 10 years time beyond his own parish?- tenuous tangent there Bondage.
BTW- can you add the "Look busy" function quick link as I mentioned months ago- its on Lastminute.com and is an ingenius link for quick screen changes to a html image of spreadsheet.
Sallys this, stalker that, Alf said blah di da Ailsa ghost- pure drivel.

I dont want to be an administrator, but thanks for asking. I finally admitted that Mattie Forde wont be a great player until he wins an all-ireland medal (I was trying in vain to hide my Kerry football arrogance) I was arguing about this thread being stickied not its subject (which has been lost somewhere) or what people are posting, stop attacking me for the way i argue, everyone is different. i may not like the way you put across your points, but i just either agree with them or disagree with em, not slate you for the way you put them across. Anyway how can i shout people down when i type? I have made very few comments (but possibly in hindsight too many) about H&A, but I did watch a fair bit of it when i was younger in 1 Telly - 2 Channel land, until i realised what it was all about and the bits i've seen here and there since show me that it hasn't changed.

Cracking line last night where Sally comes downstairs to find Alf and Pippa having a cup of tea, ‘Hi, Mr Stewart – I see you’ve found Pippa’s muffins!’ Smashing gesture by Pip to come down to the Bay to be with Sal during her time of grief. Tears welled up when Sal was watching the tape Flynn made for her before he died. I hope in time that she finds somebody else – if that guy is half the man Dr. Saunders was then she’ll be a very lucky lady.

Pretty random question for the H&A thread sticky. I think I said I'd look into it and it's simple to do but the question is where do I put the button on the forum. It's fine on the main site - I could just put one anywhere because you're always on the same page. On the forum there's only the header at the top that is common to every page and we have limited control over that. I'm still thinking of ways around it though.

On my lunch break today with some intelligent colleagues of mine of varying nationalities (including an Australian lady), we were discussing Home & Away; the group were of the opinion (strongly led by the Antipodean female) that Home & Away is Trash TV, and She explained that is why they export it along with Fosters.
An interesting viewpoint i believe you will think.
