Watching Arsenal last night just put into perspective how rigid and mechanical the likes of Chelsea are. It was pure football. Absolutely wonderful to watch Fabregas and Henry in tandem. The more I see of Fabregas the more impressed I am - imagine how good he'll be when he hits 13 or 14!
Then to turn over to the highlights of the Barca game which finshed 0-0. How there were no goals is a complete mystery. Both teams literally going for each other's throats from the get go. TV3 also had the following gem from Ronnie Whelan, 'Barca don't look as convincable as they did earlier in the competition.'
Super stuff all round.

I could never understand how underrated Fabregas was until the last few weeks after his performance in Madrid. Very few players play in central midfield at his age for any team. To do so with the composure he has shown at the level he is playing at is remarkable.

I think Kolo Toure should get the mention he deserves! Not just for last night's immense performance but his performances over the past two-three years which have largely gone unheralded!
Also there are nine million bicycles in Beijing!!

Didn't he come from the Barca youth set up ? whomever let him go must be raging Barca didn't have a choice. Arsenal signed him when he was still a kid so hadn't signed for Barca as a professional yet.

Arsenal signed him when he was still a kid so hadn't signed for Barca as a professional yet. Barca were raging alright - not at themselves for letting him go but at Arsenal for taking him and FIFA for allowing it to happen. Arsenal have taken Flamini, Fabregas, Senderos etc. from other clubs and paid them top dollar as youth players - with their developing clubs receiving compensation. There are plenty more coming through - the likes of Lupoli and Djourou who have all been signed from overseas clubs on their sixteenth birthday.
