Started out fast, but lost momentum quick enough over the past three days.

I believe our problems lie with: - Strong competition from Bebo.
- Bandage's field trip.
- Cully's recuperation from marathon (not marathon boozing session mind)
- Members not posting (at least 8 with single figure number of posts)
- The Roccerball rules committee in meeting
- Lyonsee's self-imposed exile
- Fockoffrangers' limited vocabulary

Must say it's great to see the loyal following the forum has built up especially those logging in outside work hours. There have been some decent debates across a range of topics but I'd like to entice some more new members and drive things along. However, lately my attempts at attracting new members have been as fruitful as my attempts at attracting women. Any ideas on how to push for new members folks?

I think WOW suggested it before but it was something I had previously thought of. Putting the website address on small stamp sized stickers and putting them on the back of toilet doors, over urinals, on bus stops etc etc. While some people call it vandalism I like to call it marketing. Its simple and I'm sure lots of people that see the web-address will be intrigued and will log on to see what it's all about. Maybe a bigger focus on the joining up to the forum should be emphasized on the main page.

Why single me out WOW? Ironbar and shankill caused mayhem and no one mentioned them. I'll tell you whats wrong, the forum is gay. You're all sick. No strategic direction either: where do you see the website in 5 years? ?? PS smoted

As regards the forum dying, having ironbar and shankill posting complete drivel the past while has been quite off putting. To attract new members it would have to be seen to that spammers are kept off.
I think a simple way to attract new members is to promote the forum on any other forums tfk members are on, or to find another fledgling forum similar to tfk and assimilate them.

We have dealt with the ironbar problem. Gave him plenty of chances but it wasn't funny.
With regard to promotions we could plug it better on the main site but that requires us to update the main site a bit more often. The original idea was that people would write articles for the site and those articles would be discussed in here. That's not the way it has panned out but I doubt there's anyone reading the site regularly because there's nothing to read there.
