Great show last night on the Hooligans in the World Cup 06.
Undercover cameras and all.
Showed how much the trouble was hushed up in the media.
English hooligans are some scumbags (there was a bit on the Poles & Germans). Groping birds, throwing punches, throwing bottles, singing 'Ten German Bomber's', and nazi salutes.
One fucking twat, after hitting some Brazilian fans with his flag and is caught on camera, goes over to the cemeraman and accuses him of betraying England!!!!!!!
Fucking scumbags, plain and simple. Its great seeing them get belted etc etc. But you gotta fucking hate them.
Riveting viewing all the same.
The Football Factory (the book by John King, not the film) is a good read and gets inside the pysche of these punters.

On the theme of undercover reporters and Hooligans, I remember watching a few years ago a BBC program of an undercover Irish reporter who got in with the Chelsea hooligans and ended up getting some of them nicked. I only saw a wee bit of it but does anyone know what it is called, as I wouldn't mind having a look at it?

The Chelsea one was done by that Irish guy Donal McIntyre for the BBC about 4/5 years ago. There was a series of a few episodes – think it was called ‘McIntyre Investigates’ or ‘McIntyre Undercover’ or something like that. Didn’t see it myself but a few of my mates said it was superb. He got all the tatoos etc to fit into their stereotype and his cover was nearly blown a couple of times too. I’d like to see it too.
It also struck me last night how the English media had commented on the good behaviour of their supporters. A cover up it would appear after the programme last night. The real hooligans were prevented from travelling and most of these guys were small fish yet still they caused a fair degree of havoc. Just pure filth – spitting on people, throwing bottles, pouring drink on women, attacking people on their own as they stand bravely in their groups. Scumbags.
