Just to let ye know that it doesn't look like the Celtic Rangers game on Sunday is live on Setanta Sports Ireland. Gobsh!tes are showing the grand prix instead and aren't showing the Celtic game till three o'clock. So best option looks like a pub that has Setanta Sports 1 (i.e. the subscription channel they sell in the UK).

You serious - that's Charlie Nicholas if true. There were rumours about them doing something similar last year but then they showed the ball in the end.

I think they will do the same thing as they did last year. They will open up another channel for the match. It happened last year for the old firm and also for the Motherwell match. You will be able to get it on the normal ntl package as they either put the match or the grand prix on the CBNC/living channel for the duration of the match.

Looks like they're definitely going ahead with it this time. Stupid move from them. A lot of bhoys will be waking up on Sunday morning and will only discover the game isn't on when they tune in. The delayed coverage also clashes with the rugby which is stupid also.

Just emailed them to see if they're gonna open up another channel like what Pagey said. They usually reply so I'll let you know if I get anything from them.

I got a reply from your man Niall Cogley (the head dude at Setanta) last year. I had his email address because I wrote to him ages ago before the channel went live to ask him what the pricing structure would be. Anyway his address was in my old email but I think it was just niall@setanta.com or niall@setantairl.com or something like that. Might be worth giving it a shot because he's sound enough for replying.

Just got this back from the general email address from a lady called Claire McHugh - looks like we need to find somewhere with Setanta Sports 1 - not good: Thanks for your email. The Celtic vs Rangers match is being broadcast LIVE on Setanta Sports 1 which is available to NTL and SKY digital viewers through the Setanta Sportspack. Coverage starts at 12:00 and runs until 15:00, followed by The Full SPL until 16:00. As the main rights holder for F1 in Ireland, Setanta Sports are contractually obliged to show the San Marino Grand Prix live at this time. We appreciate that sometimes live sport fixtures clash, and do our best to provide coverage for all fans involved. If you do not have Setanta Sports 1, you can catch the Celtic vs Rangers match deferred at 14:50 and at 19:15 on Setanta Sports Ireland.
