I see Willo Flood is signing for Cardiff City for 200k. Great Irish hype from a couple of seasons back but I never thought he was that great - Steven Ireland looks a far better player.
Anyway a regular game in the Championship should do him no harm.

Bit disappointed that he’s let Willo go. Only played once last season (at Chelsea) and was excellent. This follows the release of Bradley Wright-Phillips and Lee Croft, two other academy products, for £1m and £700k respectively. Think Willo’s worth what they fetched anyway. It’s always disappointing to see youngsters leaving that you’d hoped would make the grade. Have always had more of an affinity with someone who’s grown up with the club but Pearce obviously thinks they’re not good enough. After the slump in the second half of last season he seems to have concluded the squad was too young and light. He’s followed that up with signings of experienced players this summer (Hamann, Dabo, Dickov, Corradi). Still think he should have kept Willo though. They still need two full backs (although Micah Richards can step in for Mills and Jordan is adequate on the left) and a left sided midfielder following the release of Musampa and Riera. Think Barton will be playing a Gerrard, right side of midfield role this season. The first XI doesn’t look too bad on paper:
James Richards Dunne Distin Jordan Barton Dabo Hamann/Reyna AN Other Samaras Corradi/Vassell/Dickov

There's about 3 or 4 dedicated to Celtic. There's one for Liverpool too.

Bandage, what position is a satisfactory finishing position this season for City?

Top 10 and a good cup run. By that I mean as far as the last 4 in the FA Cup or a Carling Cup final. I fear for them though. Not sure Pearce knows what he's at after the initial feel good factor that was present for his first 6 months. If they struggle early doors I'd bite the bullet by October. It wouldn't be unfair as they barely won a game in the last 6 months of last season. It's going to be very interesting.

David James has said he wants to move back down south to be close to his family. He’s 36 now so if someone offers £1m+ then I’d take it – great though he’s been while at City. Need to sign another keeper then though – linked to Isaakson (spelling?) the Swedish keeper who’s with Rennes. Also, Pearce said today that Trabelsi is set to sign. That would be a cracking signing imo. Still waiting on a left sided midfield addtion – can see Reyna playing out there in a 442 although he’s been playing 433 in pre-season with Corradi through the middle and 2 from Vassell/Samaras/Dickov playing wide. Can’t see this working myself as I prefer wingers/midfielders in this formation like Robben and Cole at Chelsea.
