Mine in a Spanish and Barcelona style 4-3-3 is:
Casillas (Spain)
Miguel (Portugal) Ayala (Argentina) Cannavaro (Italy) Lahm (Germany)
Essien (Ghana) Alonso (Spain) Deco (Portugal)
Maxi Rodriguez (Argentina) Klose (Germany) Torres (Spain)
No keeper has really stood out for me but Casillas is one who hasn't put a foot wrong while not being overworked. Struggled for a centre back to partner Ayala but Italians have been solid as always. Think there's not many quality right backs around but Miguel looks the part to me. Is he still at Befica or Sporting? Should be playing in Spain. Lahm can't be questioned.
In midfield Alonso's passing has Spain flowing, Essien without being restricted like at his club has been immense and Deco's been a class act breaking forward from midfield.
Rodriguez is wide right for his all round game and goals, Klose's finishing and assists have been top class and Torres can drift around up front from a wide left starting position and has looked quality.
No Brazilians in my team as only Kaka has really played to his normal standard and Deco beats him imo.
Any thoughts?

Can't disagree with any of that to be honest though I think Ballack is really coming onto form and I'd probably have him ahead of Alonso.

Agree mostly with bandages team. No keeper has really impressed and Casillas hasn't had much to do, will like to see how he performs tonight against Henry and Co. Bourc played a stormer against the Germans but made a mess of the Costa Rica goal.
Wouldn't have Deco in the team though. Would have Kaka in there before him.

Sagnol had a savage game tonight. Would rather have him or Zambrotta over Miguel, in defence anyway.

Sagnol was indeed excellent last night. I thought Casillas was poor for the first goal last night and I'd consider replacing him. Cech was superb against Ghana but didn't see all his games.

Didn't think Casillas covered himself in glory for the Tunisian goal either. I'd plump for Kawaguchi myself.

I thought Oswaldo Sanchez did a good job for Mexico, special mention for the lunatic Kingston off Ghana, made his games exciting by being so erratic, especially on corners.
