Celtic have called a press conference for two - presumably to announce Jarosik is singning. What do the EPL lovers make of him? I'm happy enough - decent player and a bit of strength about him as well.

I've seen a bit of him and think he's poor. Big but doesn't put the foot in, apparently skillful but I've yet to see it. A bit of a stroller and didn't stand out in a scheidt Birmingham team. Not too happy about this one. From what I've seen in the WC Krancjar would have been a much better signing for this position.

I didn't like what I saw of Krancjar at all - one cracking shot but he was completely at fault for Kaka's goal and he hasn't influenced the game enough.
Some opinions from a Birmingham message board:
Tall and powerful - a good header and a terrific shot.
Best position is attacking, central mid-field role.
Good signing - wish he was still with us
Yep would have to agree. I would have loved him to sign for blues this season but you cant have everything can you? Really sad that he isn't joining us but he is a good sign. You have done well there! I will miss him playing for us
Apparently he has been signed to replace Keane. Does Strachan know trhat he cannot defend or tackle??? Good player though.

Celtic Official Site
CELTIC are delighted to announce the signing of Czech midfielder Jiri Jarosik from Chelsea on a three-year contract, with Celtic having the option of a fourth year.
Jiri (28), who has also played with CSKA Moscow and Sparta Prague and been capped 23 times for the Czech Republic, is delighted to be signing on with the Scottish Champions.
Jiri said: "It is a tremendous honour to sign for a club of Celtic’s size and stature. It is a fantastic time to be joining Celtic, with the club again Scottish Champions after doing so well last season and also with so much to look forward to in the Champions League.
I am very excited about joining Celtic and hope to play a part in bringing even more success to the club."
Celtic Manager Gordon Strachan is delighted to have secured Jiri’s signature. He said: "Jiri is a player who I think will be a great addition to our squad. He has tremendous ability and experience of playing at the highest level.
"He is someone I feel will make an important contribution to the club as we look towards the challenges ahead, both at home and in Europe.”
Celtic Chief Executive Peter Lawwell added: “We are delighted to welcome Jiri to Celtic Park and are pleased to be able to bring a player of such quality to the club.
"We are pleased already to have signed a number of new players as Gordon looks to strengthen his squad.
"Supporters can rest assured that we will continue to support Gordon’s plans for the future as we look ahead to our domestic and Champions League challenges."

I've openly slagged off this guy before but I'll obviously support him now. I hope he's a lot better than what I think he is though because frankly I think he's shit. And not shit hot either.

Don't know anything about him to be honest as rarely watch EPL games. Any reason why he isn't in the national team?

I watched the full press conference with Strachan, Lawell and Jarosik last night. Strachan freaked out at a reporter but I watched it a few times and couldn't tell what your man had done wrong. I think he might have interrupted Jarosik or something.
He came across very well- said he didn't know many players but he has Celtic TV at home and had seen about 6 games last season and he knew Celtic has the best fans in the world. He was asked what his strengths are and he said he will shoot and score goals - good enough for me.

New promising young Dutch player just signed on. Absolute spit of Melchiot he is. Cue loads of puns such as Sno arrives in Celtic Park etc etc. Still need a top class striker though - I'd take Torres.
Strachan welcomes new addition
GORDON Strachan has added further strength and depth to his Celtic squad with the addition of Dutch teenager, Evander Sno.
The 19 year-old, who has played for Feyenoord, Ajax and most recently NAC Breda in his native Holland, arrived at Celtic Park on Tuesday morning (June 20) to put the finishing touches on a three-year deal.
Sno’s capture follows Monday’s signing of midfielder Jiri Jarosik from English champions Chelsea and he is now the fifth new player that Gordon Strachan has added to last year’s title-winning side.
As the manager explained, Sno is one of a number of players that has been on his radar for some time and over the course of the past two seasons his development has been monitored by Celtic’s Head of International Scouting, Ray Clarke.
“We’d like to welcome Evander,” said Strachan. “His family are all here today and are all excited and we are delighted he’s here.
“There was a lot of time spent trying to get him here, it wasn’t the easiest of transfers and there were a few wee complications, but we got through them okay.
“We have been watching Evander since last year, but Ray Clarke and his guys over there have known about him for a while now.
“We concentrated on watching him just over the last six months and we got together and decided he was right for us.
“He’s a young man, wants to be here, has got ability, he can play in a few positions, although we want to concentrate in a certain position for him and he wants to come along and try that, which is handy.”
Having been utilised largely as a utility man over the past 12 months in Breda, Strachan has a more specific role in mind for Sno and hopes that in time, the teenager will be able to challenge for a place in the first team.
“He’s played everywhere,” the manager continued. “Last year he played in nine positions for Breda, he’s tried everywhere, but we will be looking at him as more of a central midfield player.
“That’s our idea just now, if he turns out to be the world’s best right winger then fine, but that’s what we are going to try and concentrate on and that’s where he would like to play.
“You have to remember that Evander is still a young man, in terms of footballing and first team experience, so we are not rushing him anywhere.”
The manager added: “We have to polish him up before he reaches first team level, but he’ll be training with the first team right away, because he has that ability and that intelligence. Hopefully we can see a good, all-round footballer.”

Taken from thehuddleboard - eventually Setanta have got rid of the ridiculously biased Brown and Hately. Crocker's the dude who did the SPL when it was on Sky. Remember for his 6-2 commentary in O'Neill's first Old Firm. Good appointment.
Got this from Setanta today - after i asked who the commentators will be this year.
Dear Mr. xxxxxxxx In response to your e-mail I can confirm that we have appointed Ian Crocker from Sky Sports as our new number one commentator, replacing Mark Hately and Jock Brown. We will also be announcing more commentator appointments in the near future.
Yours sincerely
Karen Xxxxxxxxx
