I just read on the Beeb's gossip column (which came from the Telegraph - reputable enough I would have thought) that Man Utd have bid 15 million for Michael Carrick. This is yet another example of the vast overpricing of the market for English players -particularly English internationals. Crazy money.

Stupid money. Over twice the price of Rosicky - different types of central midfielders but Rosicky has bags of energy and enthusiasm to match his skill. Carrick would be a nothing player on the continent. He has an element of technical ability that separates him from the majority of English players but he doesn't control a game and he's a defensive midfielder who can't tackle. I hope they buy him because I love seeing big money moves fail.

Plus he has brought me back into contention in the fantasy league
