Bernie Slaven was talking about the Southgate appointment the other day. Paraphrasing him:

I think it's a great appointment - he's a smashing lad. This coaching qualifications nonsense is only a money making racket. Look at Howard Wilkinson - more badges than John Wayne and he's useless.

Legend - and he's right

I have mentioned the footy magazine '90 Minutes' before. They carried a story once about the pop legend Prince. He used to have 'SLAVE' scrawled across his face. They said that he was actually a Doncaster Rovers fan (Bernie Slaven played for them at the time) and that the writing on his face actually said 'SLAVEN' but the 'N' was rubbed off when he embraced a fan! Classic!
