To all of you who were enthralled by the ashes last summer i would urge you to keep an eye on events at castle avenue next Sunday. Hampshire are a premier county side, boasting kevin pietersen and my own personal hero Shane Warne. Some will say that on paper, Ireland don't stand a chance. However, Jeremy Bray showed some good form in the warm-up game. But for me the main 'Irish' attractions will be Shahid Afridi with the bat and Saqlain Mushtaq with the ball. Afridi has scored the fastest one-day hundred (just 37 balls) and if he gets going, only God/Allah knows what could happen. Saqlain is a wonderful bowler, to me he revolutionised one-day off-spin, if that's what you could call it. There have been murmurings that either/neither of KP or Warny will be needed to play on Sunday after arduous winter tours- i don't buy that. Ireland aren't a bad team at all, but if you include Shahid's hitting ability on a smallish ground, they take us lightly at their peril.

I expect KP to play as England are back since Sunday. However, Warne is still on Aussie duty in Bangladesh so not sure about his availability. Shame it's clashing with the rugby though - it's actually live on Sky also. A feast of sport on Sunday with the cricket, the Old Firm, the Heineken Cup, the FA Cup and the NHL semi finals. Do you have a link to our warm up game? How did it go and who were we playing etc?

Were it not for the old firm, the rugby and the nfl finals I would probably have attended on Sunday. Shame that.

Looks like Afridi is a major doubt. Gone home to Pakistan to be with his sick daughter
