Eamo,
You seem to enjoy pushing the boundaries of tolerance in a liberal society!

Its alright mood music for the background but no way shape or form a classic. True, $ wise and air time its probably unparalleled but that doesn't make up for quality. Writing was sharp at first but after season 2 (maybe earlier) or so , it became formulaic and drawn.
Re Father Ted, you should not be forgiven (I'm sure the real Father Ted would eventually absolve you). It is indescribable how you have exposed your absolute ignorance about series 3. (Hats dothed to Rocker69). I suggest you find a vacant cottage and reside there for the rest of your natural life, there are vacancies in Donegal I believe, preferably the Glenties.
Looking at the list I think we as a forum are falling into the trap of the best comedy ever, or the most innovative?
The Fast Show was innovative as too was the Office, Sitcom's are the hardest format to master as they can be hit or miss, but Father Ted rescued that format I think.
??Green Wing??- can we set up a Birds section for that guy, where those so inclined can watch Steel Magnolias, Smack the Pony and Pretty Woman (she's a dirty hooker with the cl*p BTW) till their hearts are content.
OFAH, like, this has to go in. The best sitcom on our boxes in decades, its probably more a public psyche thing now but the amusement it has given....like, its a classic, ask anyone and they know something about it. Fair enough the RICH guys return episodes were poor, and most admit that, but would you throw out the baby with the bathwater...no, you are not a murderer are you?
Blackadder, again, the shear wit of the writing is beyond compare, like Frasier.
Can I just say, The Day Today, again another great show, but KYTV was a worthy precursor to it, although not as breakthrough. And as a satirical commentary on the way the media has become, it was spot on. I tune into these 24 hour news channels some 10years or so after this series and you cannot see the distinction sometimes. Marvelous.
One Foot in the Grave, as a sitcom, great.
Where will it end? There are real gems out there, but no to:
