So folks who gets the nod? Ledingham by a country mile in my opinion. Second only to the Comandant in showjumping's golden era.

sad to say but i'd to google capt john leddingham and whilst his stats are impressive, i couldn't vote for a guy i 'd never heard of. Went for TJ, whilst i don't anticipate us winning much next season at the world cup, it'll be something for a good mate to lead his nation (?) in the world cup of any sport, but particularly cricket which is so close to the people of ireland's hearts. i have no doubt the nation will be caught on the crest of a wave during march 2007 similar to that experienced in Italia 90.

Unless we get any more joiners to the board then it looks like Leddingham wins it. A very fair result I would say.

how can you have a poll about great captains and omit Rhona Martin? Who can forget the way she guided the British Women's Olympic Curling team to the gold medal at the Olympics in Salt Lake City??? Some (obviously highly UNeducated) goons thought the Scottish Ladies Champion 2000 was finished after she was forced to undergo knee surgery at the beginning of 2001, but my oh my how she ridiculed the doubting Thomases by regaining full fitness and bringing her team to the promised land.....

Where is Ernest Shackelton?.......Didn't you boys learn anything in Boarding school. His awe(ful)[pun] inspiring story, whilst on the face of it a complete failure, has become a textbook example of "thats my guy" leadership qualities. I believe JP Morgan uses it in their Investment Bankers induction course....man, I'm getting collywobbles thinking about it.

Poor selection there. Definitely not McGeeney. O'Driscoll has always stepped up to the mark when needed
