Can't believe the amount of abuse my shirt & tie combo got in my absence, for those of you with a fashion sense......em, preshy, don't know you, but you're a girl so you have to be ahead of the rest of them, I was in fact wearing a sky blue shirt and a matching sky blue tie, both acquired in the generally acknowledged fashion capital of Italy. I received many compliments on the outfit, and as is now apparent, they did not go unnoticed.
I think skirts over trousers can be very cute.
Cropped trousers are highly fashionable and not to be laughed at, there are occasions in summer time where it is warm, but a skirt is unsuitable such as a day in Croker, where the cropped trousers come in very useful.
I'm sticking by my guns on the celtic tie, and jail suit being unacceptable on a Friday night out....wear them at home when no-one is looking at you!
Possibly the worst thing on a girl is a Munster jersey, not only does it display their unfortunate birthplace, they are always way too big, generallly haven't been washed in days, and the red brings out the farmer cheeks, what do you reckon?

I think skirts over trousers can be very cute. this type of attire is only suitable for women who (a) have alzheimers and can't remember that they've already put on a pair of trousers, or (b) those who have one, or all, of thunder thighs, knobbledy knees or culchie calves (giant calve muscles gained from wading through the muddy fields on the way to school). what's the female opinion on "confirmation suits" - blazers worn with a round neck t-shirt / open neck shirt & jeans ? personally i think they're pretty gay but i'm sure some of the more distinguished members of the forum would disagree. i've seen humbug sport one on occasion.....and he still didn't score

Ah so cropped trousers is what they're known as.
Also, Italy may be the fashion capital of the world but that doesn't mean that every item of clothing bought there is fantastic. Like the best looking people in Ireland come from Wexford but that doesn't hide the fact we've our share of ugly munters too, isn't that right sam?

While my opinion wasn't requested, that's never stopped me before from giving it. I always thought the blazers & t-shirt look was intended to play on the gay associations, either subconsciously lowering female defences or to say "on another guy this would look gay but I'm so tough I don't have to worry". Never tried it myself but think it can look smart. All items have to be carefully chosen though, won't work with most t-shirts I think.

If we did have a fashion police, what should THEY wear, suggestions? Should they go around starkers? If so, should it be an all female force? or maybe they should wear pyjamas. Another question for consideration is should we set up a seperate judical system based around fashion? Something like the US: Executive, Legislative, Judicial and Fashionable. Or should we just allow the FPD to kick the shit out of offenders. suggestions on a postcard...

I'm sorry, what good looking people come from Wexford? Martin Storey?! I was always informed that the best looking thing to come out of Wexford was a strawberry, or at times a nice floury potato!
Re: skirts over trousers covering unfortunate legs....that hasn't stopped any of you going there before!
Re: jackets and round necked t-shirts or shirts worn with jeans, always a winner, especially if the jacket has the sleeves rolled up and is worn with a pink t-shirt! Only messing, but agree that it can look very tasteful.
If we were to have fashion police, i think it should be a "women in black" theme, where we wear shades, and zap the guys with the poor fashion sense.....those found with celtic ties would just be sent home....i mean no-one needs to see that!

To be fair though I absolutely clean up with the mots no matter what I wear. I think confirmation jackets are perfectly acceptable although they are becoming very common. I was at Morrissey in the Olympia and every bloke there was wearing one.

I've a few mates who swear by those confirmation jackets too - you know who you are - but it reeks of effort to be honest. I prefer the scruffy, unkempt look. What self respcting bloke is going to waste time going around looking for a blazer? Maybe I'm wrong and need to brush up on the old fashion stakes. I'm right though.
curly, this is no place to be bringing up your forum conquests
I was in fact bringing up the male forum member's conquests of girls outside the forum!!! Don't make me name the girls in cropped trousers! Of course the fasion police would wear ties....being highly fashionable gals!! If a girl can wear cropped trousers, she can wear a skirt aswel....other girls would wear the long trouser variety! I think you should all make a special effort this Friday to wear your "confirmation suits" (known to the modern individual as jacket coupled with slick looking t-shirt or shirt), and see how you get on compared with your typical Friday night. Note: if you are planning to frequent a pub such as Mulligans, do not expect any improvement in your scoring habits!
