I've been told that some more female perspective is needed on the freekick.com. This is clearly a sad day for Irish sport, possibly rivaled by Keith Wood's retirement from rugby but not quite. DJ was the greatest hurler I've ever seen, and considering you're all little kids, he's definitely the best you've ever seen! Before you start naming your Wexford/Offaly heros, just think have they got 5 All Ireland medals and 9 All stars, not to mention a budding career as a holiday programme presenter?!

I also feel there is a bias towards mediocre midland counties and wexford on this board

Now bandage and fellow team members, I would just like to bottom out this managerial accusation. I would like to confirm that I am NOT a member of the dark side nor shall I ever be!!!! Going forward, I think fellow posters should be kinder to females on the site.
Touch base with you losers after the bank holiday weekend ...
Biffos abu!

Smite for giving away people's workplaces - superiors could see, work out who posters are and discipline action could be taken. You're putting jobs at risk!

Should DJ decide to return from retirement, he alone could finish off the combined Offally and Wexford teams. Good point whyohwhy, way too much airspace dedicated to mediocre teams! Going forward, Kilkenny hurlers, and possibly Dublin in football should be the only sung heros!
By the way, can't believe shager wrote "touch base" in a website posting...thought this website was supposed to be cool?!

Re Kilkenny, a county that disgracefully neglects one of the national games and willingly allows it to die, not even entering the NFL or the championship, should not let be enter the hurling competitions as a result. Shocking and appalling stuff.

Kilkenny aim to win competitions not to participate. Had Wexford adopted this policy, maybe there wouldn't be a one-man football team and a mediocre hurling team??

I'm with Curly on this one ... welcome Curly ... I think I know who you are ... poor Bandage ... I sense some bitterness with the "get a room" comment ... are you missing Curly? Curly you Cat ... you are right about the Wexford football team ... Mr. Forde is indeed a great footballer and did well at headquarters on Sunday against what only can only be described as a despondent lack lustre display from the Royals ... but things will be different when us Biffos get a hold of him! I think the plan is to put Slats on him ... the only issue I have with that is the fact that we will then lose Slats' going forward capabilities .. the wing back did score two points from play on Sunday (oh captain my captain)! As the Biffos (all going to plan for the footballers of course) are playing the wexicans in a double header ... does Bandage fancy a wager?

You'll lose all his attacking qualities for a role he has a less than 50/50 chance of suceeding in. He was one of the several who tried yet failed to put the shackles on Forde in the championship in 2004. I believe you were there that night. (Just thinking about Forde's 50 yard sideline ball with the outside of his foot - emotional.) He made a decent fist of it though so not surprised they'd consider putting him on Forde. Looking forward to the games and am confident of a double victory for good over evil - that's a Wexford victory by the way.

Hi sports fans I hope you guys made use of the glorious weather at the weekend! I just wanted to inform you all that there will be NO Biffo Wexico double header at headquarters. My friend works in Setanta and she just informed me that the hurlers are out in Nowlan Park next weekend (as originally fixed) and the second Leinster football semi final (i.e. the Wexicans v ) has been put back a week to the 25th because of the Lily Shites appeal (would they ever get over it? ). Therefore the two Leinster football semi finals are set for the 25th at headquarters! Shager

Therefore the two Leinster football semi finals are set for the 25th at headquarters! Shager My source told me that KK were anxious not to lose out on the prestige of hosting Sunday's game. I'm happy it's staying there a) for the cracking atmosphere of a 20k-25k crowd at a provincial ground and b) a bit of banter in KK over the weekend. Looking forward to the double header now. Would have been a shame to have had it in a quarter full Croker. Now it will attract over 70k if last year's semis attendance is repeated. Only problem is last year we were second game on against Dublin. This year we'll be curtain raiser and have to put up with pissed up Dublin supporting day trippers trying to find their seats and getting in everyone's way as our game reaches its conclusion.

I feel sorry for the Dublin supporters having to contend with excess traffic from all the supporters travelling to the capital for the day, supporters who do not even give business to the Dublin pubs/restaurants, instead choosing to eat ham sandwiches and drink flasks of tea from boots of cars..disgraceful carry on!

With all due respect there's no real places up to the requisite quality or standard in Dublin. Usually if I'm coming up from Wexford for a game I'll have a continental breakfast in Forde's on the quay front prior to departure and then regale my friends with tales of our victory later that night over dinner in La Riva or Mange II after we have crossed Wexford Bridge (the longest bridge in Ireland).
