The format of the website (not this forum, but the actual website) has changed. Where once we had a beautiful site with pages and sub-categories and all that jazz we have decided to do away with all that and run the website as a sort of blog. The principal reason for that is so that we can update the site more frequently with articles.
Basically we hope to post our sports articles (of any length) on the website thefreekick.wordpress.com and each article will have a link to a thread on this forum where it can be discussed or dismissed out of hand or whatever.
If anyone wants to write anything for the actual site then register for a wordpress account at www.wordpress.com and let me know here (or by PM) what your username is and what email address you used. I will then give you access to the site which will enable you to write articles. They will not be published on the site until approved by one of the moderators but if you let one of us know then we will approve it once we get a chance.
The articles will be published fairly instantaneously (i.e. immediately once they are approved) so we are able to cover topical subjects.
The advantages of this over our old website are:
- nobody needs to understand CSS or html or anything
- anyone can write articles and have them on the website within a couple of minutes
- I don't have to do all the updating myself
- the ease of use will allow us to generate more content more speedily.
Any questions on this just put them in this thread which has replaced bandage's heartfelt plea for submissions.
ps Whyohwhy if you want to register for the wordpress I'll get your article sorted. I could have put it up now but I didn't want to take credit for it.
